Space Foundation’s State of Space 2021 will explore where the space community and economy are at and share five distinct perspectives about the actions, investments and possibilities that will shape the future of commerce, security and daily life here on Earth and beyond.

Dr. Dave Kaufman is a Ball Corporation senior vice president and the president of Ball Aerospace. Kaufman has held numerous positions at Ball over the past 20 years. His high-level, mission-focused approach and expertise in the National Security Space arena gives him a broad perspective on aerospace and defense.

Gen. David D. Thompson is the Vice Chief of Space Operations, United States Space Force. As Vice Chief he is responsible for assisting the Chief of Space Operations in organizing, training and equipping space forces in the United States and overseas, integrating space policy and guidance, and coordinating space-related activities for the U.S. Space Force and Department of the Air Force.

As Space Foundation CEO, Tom Zelibor leads one of world’s premier nonprofit organizations solely dedicated to supporting space activities, space professionals and education initiatives that open space access and opportunity for all.

Dr. Tidiane Ouattara received a PhD and a master’s degree, both in Remote Sensing and Geographical Information System (GIS) from Sherbrooke University (Canada) respectively in 2001 and 1996. He also holds a master’s degree in physical geography from Université de Cocody-Abidjan (Côte-d’Ivoire). Dr. Ouattara is currently Space Science Expert and Coordinator for GMES & Africa Programme.
