Gen. Lester L. Lyles is the chair for the National Space Council Users’ Advisory Group. In this presentation Gen. Lyles discusses the UAG function is to ensure that the interests of industry, other non-federal entities, and institutions leading aerospace research, science advancement, technology development, and space operations are represented in a balanced fashion at the national level.
UAG is organized to cover a variety of topics related to space, such as exploration, economic development, emerging technology, STEM education, and national security.
Due to this wide-ranging role, Lyles explained that “what keeps him up at night” are the connections yet to be made and the conversations yet to be had.
“All of you, in some form or another, either do play or can play in helping to address the challenges, needs and opportunities in the space industry at large,” Lyles said.
