Symposium: Space Jobs Offer Opportunity to Boost Nations

A group of space workforce leaders from around the globe gathered at the 38th Space Symposium and agreed that the opportunities in space can lift economies from industrialized countries like Japan to developing nations in South America and Africa. The growing commercial space business and the falling costs of satellites and access to orbit are among the factors that have more countries than ever looking to space to bolster their economic development efforts. Key to all those efforts is increasing the number of students pursuing fields in science, technology, engineering and math, speakers said.
